10 teachers from 9 primary schools and 11 teachers of English from 7 secondary schools were yesterday morning awarded certificates for successfully completing a Cambridge English Language Teaching course (CELT-Primary / CELT-Secondary).
CELT-P and CELT-S are teacher development programmes which help practitioners teaching English in mainstream education to improve the quality of their classroom practice by focusing on strategies, methods and materials teachers need to teach language effectively while ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
All courses, which were open to eligible candidates from state, church and independent schools, were fully sponsored by the Ministry for Education and Employment. The Ministry is planning to launch another call for applications for CELT-P and CELT-S courses in October.
