On the 27th and 28th of October the Library at St. Nicholas College Middle School was transformed into a different room ready to welcome students for a Halloween themed lesson. The library was decorated with cute bats, pumpkins and other themed decorations. Suspense music was eerily playing in the background when the students entered. We discussed various books and films which include witches or something spooky such as The Witches, Nightmare before Christmas etc. The lesson included short stories animated by the teacher, songs and various clips. The change in setting contributed towards the success of this Halloween activity which led to students drawing and writing creatively. All year 7 and year 8 students participated in this activity during their English lesson.
